- were established in 1981, to provide a focal point for local Arts, Crafts and Music in the Island and Royal Manor of Portland.
We have a large number of enthusiastic members from an area that includes Portland, Weymouth Dorchester and the surrounding areas. Our objectives are to promote members work, and increase awareness of art and craft throughout the area.
We provide facilities for members and also run exhibitions, events, cultural trips and workshops, often with national or international level tutors, as well as in house workshops led by skilled members. Occasional lectures are open to all.
Workshops are open to non members for an additional fee.
Joining Royal Manor Workshops gives you reduced fees for workshops and talks as well as discounts at some local art and craft suppliers - you will need to show your membership card (Herrings in Dorchester, Stitchncraft at Semley near Shaftesbury, Half Moon Beadshop, Poundbury, Dorchester, Art4All Abbotsbury Road (corner of Franklin Road).
